While the VA is on federal land, it adjoins several Menlo Oaks homes, and it can do whatever it pleases, including removing some Heritage and Significan trees. The County and the City of Menlo Park have no say in this matter, but some neighbors found out about this and MOTA called attention to it contacting local government officials and the media–with results. Some of our neighbors will be affected if the VA is allowed to remove many old “veteran” trees to “put up a parking lot”.
